Statement
“Video is the extension of the artist on stage and of the music. It is the projection of the character’s emotions and inner states — it sets the context in which they move. Immaterial by nature, it can explore extremes: at once active and reactive, perpetual and ephemeral, infinitely delicate and powerful.”
Anouar Brissel is a self-taught video artist whose work is shaped by drawing and music composition. He designs projected image and scenography for opera, ballet and concert stages across Europe and North America.
His work has been seen at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Opéra de Lyon, the Dutch National Ballet, Scottish Ballet and the Maria Manetti Shrem Opera Festival in Napa Valley.
